One Of The Guys Looks At Me And Says: “Right, Now We’Ll See If You’Ve Got Any Balls”. As The Subway Approaches, The Ground Starts To Tremble, It Steams Under Us, And In A Burst Of Madness, One Of Them Jumps Onto A Carriage. Before I Even Have Time To Understand What’s Happening, A Hand Pushes My Back And I Myself Jump Down. I Roll Around On The Top Of The Carriage, Which Is Going At Full Speed, And I Grab Onto Whatever I Can To Slow Myself Down. For The First Few Seconds I’M Petrified, Then Little By Little, I Rise To A Squatting Position, My Hair Blowing In The Wind, And Start To Enjoy The Moment. The Feeling Reminds Me Of My Youth, Hurtling Down The Hills Of San Francisco On My Skateboard: It’s A Rush. As The Carriage Starts To Slow Down, One Of The Lads Jumps Onto A Platform To His Right. A Little Disappointed That The Ride Was Over, I Follow Him, Already Excited For The Next Round.
